Ephesians 3:20-21
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
Think about this: God is able to do immeasurably more than ALL we ask or imagine! We hate to ask God for big things because to us, they are TOO big or TOO unimaginable. We let doubt get in the way. Then, we cling on to what we are asking for--"This is the end all! I have to have it!"
God wants us to ask him for what we want. But, sometimes he wants us to give it over to him. Why? Because he has greater for us than ALL we can ask or imagine. We just need to trust him--in who he is; that he is good; that his love is great; that his plan for us is greater than our plan for ourselves…and that if he doesn’t bring our plan to pass, that his plan for us is far greater than what we could ask or imagine.
He knows what we need and what is good for us. We just need to trust him and rest in him and in his plan for us. As he says in Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
